Novozymes – Particle Falls Live Art Demonstration

Together with project partners and artist Andrea Polli, we brought a unique public display to downtown Raleigh during the month of Mar/Apr 2017. A unique fusion of art and science, the display captures real-time air quality readings of fine particulate matter pollution and translates it into a brilliant light display on the side of a 5-story building. The lights resemble a flowing blue waterfall when the air is clean, but when the pollution readings spike, colorful yellow, red and orange dots appear and seemingly turn the waterfall into a ball of fire. The display was shown nightly for one month leading up to earth day with the intent of raising public awareness about air pollution and the variety of clean transportation opportunities available in the Triangle. Volunteers staffed the display each night to talk to the public and provide them information. The display received significant media coverage including WRAL and WNCN-TV, WUNC-FM, the News & Observer and numerous local magazines and blogs. Learn more here.

Novozymes Zymobile Program

An educational program geared toward key stakeholders to inform about the benefits of advanced biofuels. The core of the program revolves around The Zymobile, which is currently a 2011 Dodge Charger Flex-Fuel vehicle that runs on a blend of up to 85% biofuels and 15% gas. The car travels the U.S. to events and public forums with our employees and serves as a rolling billboard and conversation-starter for our public affairs campaigns to support our bioenergy business. Over the years, the car has been pictured with President Bill Clinton, USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack, Governor Pat McCrory, Governor Pete Ricketts, Bachelor reality TV star Chris Soules and more.
